Key Responsibilities

The Oncology Nurse Practitioner will work under the guidance of the Cancer Institute administrator, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of oncology physicians and advanced practice providers. This role primarily focuses on the outpatient care of adult patients with Oncology and Hematology needs. Opportunities for involvement in both inpatient and outpatient settings will be available.

This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities in cancer management, including initial assessments, treatment planning, addressing complications, and providing palliative care.

  • Duties include conducting thorough history and physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, managing symptoms, and prescribing treatments in conjunction with the supervising physician.
  • Additional responsibilities involve consulting with specialist physicians and other healthcare team members regarding patient condition changes.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience is required.

A Master's Degree from an accredited nursing program is mandatory.

Active RN, DEA, and RNP licenses are required.

Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association are necessary.

National certification in a Nurse Practitioner specialty (AOCNP, ANP, ACNP, FNP) is required.

Credentialing as an allied health professional with the organization is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in Oncology is preferred, although training is available for the right candidate.
Experience in both malignant and benign Hematology is advantageous.
New graduate Nurse Practitioners may be considered if they possess prior oncology nursing experience.

Compensation
$86.79 per hour
