Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician

Comal Independent School District is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Registered Behavior Technician will provide direct one-on-one behavioral intervention to teach communication, social, and daily living skills to students with disabilities in home, community, and school settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) to provide beneficial and effective care to students.
  2. Assist students with day-to-day tasks and activities.
  3. Collect and record data on student behaviors to inform instruction and intervention.
  4. Teach specific skills required for skill acquisition and maladaptive behavior reduction.
  5. Nurture students' social abilities and promote positive relationships.
  6. Collaborate with teachers and itinerant personnel to provide services effectively and without disruption to the environment or other individuals.
Requirements:
  1. Be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  3. Must hold and maintain current certification requirements.
  4. Follow the RBT Ethics Code.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Ability to work with students with disabilities.
  2. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively.
  4. Knowledge of general office equipment, assistive technology devices/systems, specialized curricula, and Behavior Intervention Plans.
Working Conditions:

The Registered Behavior Technician will work in a variety of settings, including home, community, and school environments. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with frequent communication with teachers, itinerant personnel, and other stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, and staff. A strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis and experience working with students with disabilities is highly desirable.
