Job Summary

As an Ambulatory Endoscopy Technologist with CHRISTUS Health, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the efficient functioning of the GI room. This is a dynamic and challenging position that requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies for endoscopic procedures, ensuring proper functioning and safety.
  • Assist physicians and registered nurses with procedures, verifying equipment and performing safety checks.
  • Maintain endoscopic equipment, preparing broken scopes for repair, and collecting and delivering specimens.
  • Support therapeutic interventions, such as balloon dilations, polypectomy, and stent placement.
  • Coordinate review of special-order supply inventory and ensure rooms are stocked for next-day procedures.
  • Complete annual competencies and additional competencies related to new procedures.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-1 year of experience preferred, with previous experience in the Operating Room or Endoscopy Unit a plus.
  • BLS (American Heart Association) certification required.
  • SGNA Certification within 6 months of hire required.
