Position Overview:

The Aviation Project Consultant plays a crucial role in supporting project management efforts to meet client objectives. This position is responsible for executing assigned project tasks efficiently and collaborating with team members to ensure project success. The Consultant will oversee project activities and maintain communication with clients while guiding the work of Project Analysts and other support personnel as necessary.

Qualifications:

Education / Technical / Experience:

A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in aviation management, urban planning, architecture, engineering, quantitative analysis, mathematics, computer sciences, graphics, computer-aided design, or public administration. A master's degree is advantageous. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Develop comprehensive scopes of work tailored to client needs, including detailed task breakdowns, time estimates, and associated schedules/fees.
  • Adjust project scopes as necessary in response to fee negotiations, ensuring client expectations are managed effectively.
  • Supervise team members to ensure the completion of project elements, which may include junior associates and subconsultants.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining primary contact with clients.
  • Generate all required project deliverables, including reports, plans, drawings, and presentations, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Identify potential project issues early and work towards timely resolutions.

Supervisory Support:

Provide mentorship and training to junior staff, offering both formal and informal guidance to enhance their professional skills. Offer constructive feedback to help junior staff recognize valuable skills and behaviors.

Communication:

The Senior Consultant will lead meetings and presentations for stakeholders at all levels. Familiarity with company style guidelines is essential for producing high-quality deliverables.

Business Development:

Identify opportunities for follow-on work with existing clients and explore avenues for expanding business. Develop a focus on specific service areas that align with the company's strategic goals.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Excel for advanced data analysis, including sorting, formatting, and using complex functions. Capable of creating impactful PowerPoint presentations and understanding the airport environment through relevant experience.

Physical and Mental Demands:

This role requires the ability to perform various physical tasks, including standing, sitting, and lifting light objects. Mentally, the position demands strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work under deadlines.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time role, with an expectation of 40 hours per week. Occasional travel may be required.

Reporting Relationships:

This position reports to senior management as designated during the hiring process.

Supervisory Responsibility:

None.
