Dignity Health - St. Mary Medical Center, established in 1923 by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, is a nonprofit, acute care hospital with 389 beds located in Long Beach, California. The center provides a comprehensive range of services, including a Level II trauma center, cardiac and vascular care, surgical weight loss programs, maternity services, and the CARE Center, recognized as a leading PrEP center. Key ResponsibilitiesRole Summary:
- Academic Medical Staff Physicians are required to be members of the Medical Staff at St. Mary Medical Center and must hold a valid medical license issued by the State of California, along with current certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
- Subspecialty board certification may be preferred or mandated based on specific roles within the Department of Medical Education or the Hospital.
- Academic Medical Staff Physicians should demonstrate a passion for teaching, learning, program management, and academic innovation as outlined by the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
- A minimum of one year in a comparable position or completion of a year as a Chief Resident post-residency.
- Graduation from a recognized medical school in the U.S., Canada, or other international institutions acknowledged by the Medical Board of California.
- Possession of a full, unrestricted medical license in California.
- Compliance with credentialing approval as stipulated by St. Mary Medical Staff privileges.
- Eligibility for board certification or certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
$115.71 per hour
