Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Examine patients, prescribe medicine, and order diagnostic tests.
  • Perform advanced patient assessments, obtain complete health and psychosocial history, and record findings in a systematic format.
  • Develop and implement plans for health promotion and health maintenance.
  • Provide periodic health assessments, health education, and counseling.
  • Arrange referrals to other members of the health team as needed and to community resources as appropriate.
  • Respect the dignity, confidentiality, and privacy of patients.
  • Obtain appropriate authorization, consents for treatment, and follow proper procedures when handling and disposing of biohazardous waste.
  • Provide open and timely communication with patients, families, and their significant others.
  • Provide sufficient information to allow patients and significant others to participate in their care.
  • Provide educational resources to the patient/family as appropriate.
  • Maintain current CPR and other appropriate licensure/certifications.
  • Ensure that appearance and personal conduct are professional at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a Physician's Assistant training program and certification by the State Board of Physician Assistant OR
  • Must be State licensed and Board Certified Nurse Practitioner with NPI.
  • At least 6 months of experience in doing wellness exams is a MUST.
  • Previous EMR skills preferred. Bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • A current license to practice medicine in this state.
  • Current CPR certificate.
