The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing effective procurement strategies to support business goals. This role will oversee the inventory levels, ensure timely reordering of materials, and coordinate with the warehouse and logistics teams to ensure smooth deliveries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement Strategies
    • Develop and implement procurement strategies to maintain optimal stock levels and support business goals.
    • Analyze market trends, pricing strategies, and forecasts to inform procurement decisions.
  • Supplier Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
    • Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to secure cost-effective deals.
    • Evaluate suppliers based on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery time, quality, and cost.
  • Inventory Management
    • Oversee the inventory levels and ensure timely reordering of materials.
    • Coordinate with the warehouse and logistics teams to ensure smooth deliveries.
  • Cost Management
    • Identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.
    • Ensure that purchasing activities stay within the approved budget.
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure that all procurement processes comply with company policies and government regulations.
    • Manage risks related to the supply chain, including supply disruptions, and seek alternatives when necessary.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Supervise and mentor junior purchasing staff.
    • Conduct training sessions to improve procurement skills and ensure team efficiency.
  • Contract Management
    • Oversee contract creation, review, and execution.
    • Ensure proper documentation and storage of all contracts and agreements with suppliers.
  • Reporting and Analytics
    • Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and vendor performance.
    • Use data analysis to forecast procurement needs and optimize stock levels.
    Qualifications and Skills
    • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree or certifications like CPM, CPSM, or CIPS is an advantage).
    • Experience: 5+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain management, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
    • Technical Skills: Proficient in procurement software and systems (such as ERP or SAP), strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis.
    • Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and vendors.
    • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills to forecast needs and make informed purchasing decisions.
    • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to manage vendor relationships and internal team coordination.
    • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
    • Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple tasks, contracts, and vendors simultaneously, ensuring nothing is overlooked.
    Work Environment
    • The role may require occasional travel to meet with suppliers or attend industry conferences.
