The Senior Vice President of Finance is responsible for formulating and executing both annual and long-term financial strategies, alongside tactical plans that support ongoing business operations and future investment initiatives. This role involves establishing and nurturing relationships with financial institutions, tax professionals, insurance providers, and corporate financial advisors. The SVP will enhance existing financial processes to guarantee timely and precise data in accordance with GAAP standards. Additionally, this position will develop and maintain cash flow strategies to effectively support daily operations, capital expenditures, mergers and acquisitions, and significant capital investment programs. Compliance with all banking covenants is essential.

Key Responsibilities

1. Formulate an annual financial strategy that maximizes cash flow, enhances profitability, mitigates risks, optimizes tax obligations, and accommodates capital investment needs.

2. Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, including Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Tax Planning Documents.

3. Establish and maintain financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor essential financial metrics across all Business Units.

4. Collaborate with external accounting and tax experts to ensure the effective management of investments and overall financial strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.

5. Oversee the controller and their team in the development and ongoing management of all financial processes and documentation.

6. Partner with external insurance providers to devise cost-effective solutions while maximizing the company's financial investments.

7. Assess the organization’s financial standing and provide regular reports on its financial health (monthly, quarterly, and annually).

8. Coordinate tax reporting initiatives with external tax accountants and financial advisors.

9. Analyze, consolidate, and direct all cost accounting practices along with other statistical and routine reporting.

10. Lead and evaluate studies on economic, business, and financial conditions and their implications for the organization’s policies and operations.

11. Assess and recommend business partnership opportunities that align with annual growth objectives.

12. Collaborate with the Chief Sales Officer to align the Annual Sales Plan with growth strategies for various business sectors.

Additional Responsibilities

1. Work with location managers on the creation of annual budgets and tracking of KPIs.

2. Collaborate with the HR Manager to ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.

3. Ensure that monthly and quarterly audits are conducted across all locations regarding compliance, documenting and storing results.

4. Conduct quarterly audits of financial processes to ensure adherence to GAAP standards.

5. Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Experience Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a CFO role, preferably within the oil and gas sector.

• At least 10 years of experience overseeing or participating in M&A activities.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a controller.

• At least 5 years of experience utilizing Microsoft Dynamics.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience collaborating with tax consultants and financial advisors.

• At least 5 years of experience supervising a controller and their responsibilities.

Travel Requirements

A minimum travel requirement of 25%, with travel occurring at least every three months to support ongoing operations.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution.

• CPA certification is preferred.

• An MBA is desired.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a controller.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience managing corporate taxes.

Language Skills

Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business publications, professional journals, and regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence effectively.

Mathematical Skills

Competence in working with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistics, and geometry. Ability to apply these concepts to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions provided in different formats.

Other Skills and Abilities

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating financial conditions.

• Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on data clarity and accuracy.

Physical Demands

The physical demands required for this role include standing, walking, and sitting frequently, with occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.
