About the Role

Colorado State University is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to fill the position of Associate Vice President of Facilities Operations. This role will play a critical part in shaping and advancing the university's facilities management goals, ensuring that facilities operations support academic and institutional priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership and Planning: Envision and implement long-term strategies that align with the university's mission and objectives, ensuring that facilities operations support academic and institutional priorities.
  • Operational Oversight and Management: Effectively manage facilities operations, including leading a large team, setting performance metrics and goals, and establishing productive working relationships with academic, auxiliary, support, and research units.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, construction management, engineering, sustainability, planning, public administration, or a related field.
  • 10 years of progressively responsible experience in complex facilities operations, including operations management, remodel and construction services, and managing facilities administration.
  • Experience leading and managing large-scale facilities operations, including financial acumen, planning, and execution.
  • Experience managing, leading, and motivating large teams.
  • Experience interacting with senior executives and stakeholders, including briefing and presenting to executive leadership and oversight boards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in business administration, construction management, engineering, sustainability, planning, public administration, or a related field.
  • 15 years of progressively responsible experience in complex facilities operations, including operations management, remodel and construction services, and managing facilities administration.
  • Senior leadership experience in a university or large complex organization of similar size and scope, including knowledge of higher education issues, policies, and procedures.
