We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Communications Technician I to join our team at the Texas Department of Public Safety. As a key member of our telecommunications team, you will be responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining voice, data, and digital telecommunications systems.
Key Responsibilities- Install and configure mobile radios and in-car video systems
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of telecommunications equipment
- Install and configure data signaling driven emergency equipment
- Provide field support in response to natural and man-made disasters
- Transport vehicles to various locations to meet agency needs
- Attend work regularly and observe approved work hours
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience with installation of after-market equipment in vehicles
- Knowledge of fundamental electrical theory, electronics, and automotive electrical systems
- Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot two-way radio equipment and emergency lighting equipment
- Valid driver's license from the state of residence
