Role Summary:
The Student Success Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing the educational journey and retention of students enrolled in the Nursing Program. Reporting to the Dean of Allied Health and Nursing and the Director of Nursing, this position is dedicated to fostering an environment that promotes academic achievement and student persistence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate student registration and orientation processes to ensure a smooth transition into the Nursing Program.
- Organize and lead tutoring sessions and preparatory boot camps aimed at NCLEX readiness.
- Conduct outreach to students who may require additional support, particularly those lagging in registration or academic performance.
- Collaborate with nursing faculty to assess and address the learning needs of students.
- Develop and implement comprehensive retention strategies and programming to enhance student engagement.
- Provide academic advising and coaching tailored to the unique challenges faced by nursing students.
- Coordinate with clinical faculty to ensure students are adequately prepared for clinical experiences.
- Engage with local high schools to establish bridge programs that facilitate student entry into the Nursing Program.
- Assist in the creation and execution of remediation plans for students needing additional support.
- Design and promote initiatives aimed at improving student success within the nursing curriculum.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field is required; a Master's Degree is preferred.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in an educational or support role.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Commitment to providing outstanding customer service and support to students and faculty.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in utilizing technology and software for educational purposes.
