Job Summary

Natural Organics Inc is seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Quality Control group, you will be responsible for supporting the performance of intermediate analytical testing techniques, maintaining the QC laboratory, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine intermediate analytical testing techniques and operate lab instrumentations, including HPLCs, UV-VIS instruments, ICP-OES and ICP-MS instruments, Titrations, NIR and FTIR instruments.
  • Maintain chemical and material inventories, and work effectively with individual instrument's computer software, spreadsheets, and word processing applications.
  • Perform testing for all raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, and stability and other samples assigned.
  • Read and train on standard operating procedures to carry out general laboratory operations in an effective and safe manner, while maintaining a clean and orderly workspace.
  • Support the performance of equipment qualification and method validations/verifications.
  • Detect and report laboratory events and OOS/OOT results to laboratory management and execute subsequent investigations.
  • Adhere to and be knowledgeable in QC procedures and test methods, and support the training of new and less experienced personnel.
  • Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Be knowledgeable with a strong understanding of cGMP/cGLP and other regulatory requirements, and execute/document all testing in the laboratory according to these standards.
  • Review Quality documentation and test data for completeness and compliance, and forward as required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of the Quality Control group and site as a whole, including record keeping, lab processes, site safety, etc.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a science field.
  • 4+ years prior experience working in a laboratory, preferably in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or nutritional supplement industry.
  • 1-2 years HPLC/GC experience required.
  • Strong understanding of analytical chemistry and techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal English skills, and strong computer skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills, and ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (safety glasses, respirator, gloves, etc.).
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, and ability to lift/carry 10-25 lbs.
