POSITION SUMMARY:

The Activities Assistant plays a crucial role in aiding the planning and execution of a diverse activity program tailored to fulfill the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of residents within the Health Center.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitates the organization and coordination of activities for residents, ensuring that all their recreational needs are addressed. Provides personalized one-on-one activities according to individual care plans.
  • Keeps accurate and up-to-date records of residents' participation in daily activities and adheres to their individualized care plans.
  • Exhibits the ability to consistently deliver high-quality care to residents, meeting their activity needs while following policies and procedures in line with state and federal regulations and the facility's standards.
  • Assists in timely assessments of residents as directed by supervisors, implements care plans established by coordinators or directors, and communicates any changes in residents' conditions.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with residents, their families, regulatory surveyors, and other professionals, ensuring the personal rights of each resident are respected and upheld.
  • Participates in all required training sessions and actively seeks personal and professional growth through ongoing education.
  • Adheres to infection control protocols as directed by the Infection Control team, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized after use.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability and adherence to safety protocols as directed by supervisors.

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Completion of the 40-hour Basic Course for activities professionals is preferred (National Certification Council for Activity Professionals - NCCAP).
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a social or recreational program or a healthcare setting with elderly populations.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
