We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our Fleet Simulator Training Unit team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the operations, maintenance, and training at our fleet simulators.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the operations, maintenance, and training at all fleet simulators
- Lead a team of Resident Engineers and Platform Leads to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our fleet simulators
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our fleet simulator operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members to ensure the successful completion of projects and tasks
- BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university and a minimum of nine years of relevant experience
- MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science-related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of seven years of relevant experience
- Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part II qualified or qualified SIT and three years as EOOW in the Nuclear Operations Program
- Currently or previously qualified Engineering Watch Supervisor, or higher, on a Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plant
- Experience in IDE operations, IDE testing, I&C equipment testing, change control process, and configuration control
- Able to communicate with regulators verbally or in written format
- Demonstrated experience in team building and providing work direction and leadership
- Experience successfully working with subcontractors and facility engineers
- Demonstrated ability to build consensus with colleagues across multiple locations
- Ability to provide verbal and written feedback to FIDE staff and Local Training Command supervision during audits at field locations
- Intermediate user of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
