Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced multidisciplinary engineer to join our Materials Manufacturing - Fabrication Technology (MM-FT) team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a group of engineers and scientists in the study of manufacturing processes, identifying vulnerabilities, and developing improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers and scientists in the study of manufacturing processes
- Identify vulnerabilities in current processes and develop improvements
- Conduct hands-on laboratory work, including defining and conducting experiments and designing and constructing equipment and test setups
- Analyze manufacturing and experimental data to develop solutions
- Interface with internal organizations and vendors, and share results and provide recommendations
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or science-related field and 9 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 7 years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge and experience in design and executing experiments, statistics, and manufacturing and inspection oversight
- Knowledge of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program element manufacturing process and inspection techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work independently or as part of a team
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge and experience in design and executing experiments
- Working knowledge and experience in statistics
- Knowledge or experience in manufacturing and inspection oversight
- Knowledge of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program element manufacturing process
- Knowledge or experience in inspection techniques (destructive and non-destructive)
