Vets Hired is seeking a highly skilled Child and Youth Services Functional Technology Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in integrating technology into all aspects of Child and Youth Services operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technology Integration: Serves as a Child and Youth Services Functional Technology Specialist with responsibility for integrating technology into all aspects of Child and Youth Services operations.
  • Collaboration: Works closely with installation Information Systems Officer and Director of Information Management to develop and implement technology procedures and actions to support Child and Youth Services programming for children and youth and Child and Youth Services administrative operations.
  • System Management: Applies professional knowledge to oversee and support implementation of the Child and Youth Management Information System (CYMS) to include collecting, accurate accounting and reporting of funds.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensures operations of Child and Youth Technology Labs are in accordance with all applicable regulations and standards.
  • Education and Training: Designs and implements a comprehensive Educational Technology Program for School-age children, Middle School youth and Teens attending Child and Youth Services programs. Integrates technology into Service Areas.
Requirements
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.

  • Qualification/Eligibility/Physical/Background Requirements: Meet qualification/eligibility/physical/background requirements for this position.
  • Health Assessment: Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations.
  • Probationary Period: A one year probationary period may be required (either initially or upon conversion, if applicable).
  • Training and Competence: Successful completion of annual training requirements within the prescribed time frame and demonstrated on the job competence is required.
  • Irregular Hours and Travel: May be subject to an irregular hours, evening and or weekends. Travel to on and off post locations required.
  • Employment Verification and Credit Check: Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) Check. Credit check required.
Qualifications
  • Education and Certifications: Substantial college coursework or professional certificates from trade school(s) or demonstrated competence in computer science, information technology or related field.
  • Knowledge and Skills: In addition, candidate must possess: 1. Knowledge of child and youth programs, education/recreation programs for youth, or a combination of knowledge in all fields related to child/youth development or related field. 2. Knowledge/demonstrated skill in working with Microsoft Windows and Windows applications; Intranet/Internet database applications; email administration, web page design/development, and server administration; setting up network printers and other peripherals. 3. Ability to trouble shoot hardware, printers, LAN equipment, scanner, server, and software and swap/replace/upgrade equipment. 4. Ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and propose solutions.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Successful completion of a 4-year college or university with coursework in computer science, information technology or a closely related field highly desirable.
