About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Engineer 1 - Controls Specialist to join our team at Setpoint Systems. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and implementing building automation systems for a variety of clients, including military and specialized locations, as well as businesses of all types and sizes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with design for assigned projects, including HVAC temperature control systems, lighting and access controls systems, and wire drawings and floor plan markups.
  • Focus on design to add or improve energy conservation controls for HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air handling units, heat recovery, and terminal units.
  • Design and implement BAS system design for HVAC, lighting, and access control systems using the Delta Controls.
  • Analyze and estimate costs for control systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional HVAC systems.
  • Communicate with customers to collect key information needed to ensure the finished design meets their needs.
  • Participate in meetings with account managers on construction estimates and proposal writing.
Requirements
  • BS in mechanical engineering strongly encouraged, and/or 2+ years' experience in building control systems and/or equivalent HVAC knowledge.
  • Introductory knowledge of DDC, electric, and pneumatic control systems.
  • Analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting.
Preferred Credentials
  • LEED GA/APCEMPE.
  • Association with ASHRAE.
