Job Summary:

As a Civil Engineering Project Manager, you will be responsible for reviewing Design & Construction Phase Submittals for Contract Compliance. You will also implement Technical Contract Requirements and trace those as objective evidence in the Handover Process. Additionally, you will assist with developing and deploying project QA/QC standards, best practices, policies, and procedures. You will contribute to the design phase charrettes and advise on potential constructability and quality issues during construction. You will coordinate and manage people, materials, and equipment, as well as the contractor's compliance with the client's safety policies and conducting safety assessments as required by the client. You will manage all field operations and work sequences to report to the Project Manager. You will anticipate project needs with sufficient lead time to avoid production delays. You will assist Engineering and Quality departments in reviewing and closing out Non-Conformances. You will oversee coordination with project staff to outline work plans and assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority. You will review status, modify schedules or plans as required, and prepare project reports for management and owners. You will determine that the contractor's work is performed per the construction contract, project plans, specifications, and all other contract documents and amendments to it to guard against defects and deficiencies in the contractor's work. You will effectively interface with the client, program manager, design-builder, and numerous 3rd parties. You will train and develop segment field inspectors in field inspections and NCR close-out for (large) bridges. You will prepare and actively participate in the resolution of project deficiency reporting by writing NCRs. You will participate in the preparation of a Work Plan for each distinct element of work.


Requirements:

A Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (or foreign equivalent) and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, or in any civil engineering related occupation. In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (or foreign equivalent) and five (5) years of experience in the job offered, or in any civil engineering related occupation.


Special Requirements:
Must have academic training or experience in the following: 1. Earthworks; 2. Utilities; 3. Grade separations; 4. Bridge structures; 5. Environmental clearances/permits; and 6. Caltrans civil and structures processes.
