Job Description

Job Title: Senior Manager, Operational Support

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager, Operational Support is a highly visible leadership role responsible for overseeing the operational support functions of DSV A/S. This includes ensuring the smooth operation of logistics and supply chain activities, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Provide communication and guidance to management teams
  • Provide stabilization resources to support sites performing below standard
  • Determine and enlist other resources where needed, including engineering, IT, operations, HR, and quality
  • Travel to sites and provide operational coverage support as needed
  • Develop the team in areas of leadership, skill sets, team unity, and communication
  • Provide oversight and make decisions related to all aspects of site stabilization, including layout design, storage media, slotting, capital improvement purchases, MHE, and skills assessment of local teams
  • Lead the effort to train new associates on systems and applications
  • Coordinate the preparation of required training material for new internal applications
  • Communicate effectively with team members, operations partners, and vendors
  • Effectively utilize data when analyzing issues and problem-solving
  • Provide bi-weekly updates on projects, including early awareness of possible problems

Requirements:

  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • 5 years' experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
  • 5 years' experience in a leadership role in logistics/distribution/supply chain environment

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in knowledge of applicable WMS systems
  • English (reading, writing, verbal)
  • Proficiency in business communication at all levels
