Compensation Structure:
Master's-level Counselor: $55,000 - $66,000
Licensed Counselor: $67,000 - $77,000
Potential sign-on bonus of up to $4000.
Actual compensation will be influenced by various factors, including educational background, professional experience, and, in some cases, certifications. We aim for competitive alignment and fairness in compensation among our staff.
Under the guidance of supervisory personnel, this role encompasses a comprehensive range of counseling and clinical responsibilities, including but not limited to assessment, education, and treatment of individuals facing substance use challenges and related behavioral health issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Individual, Family, & Group Counseling: Conducts individual therapy, family sessions, and group therapy; engages in safety planning and risk assessment; identifies challenges and formulates strategies for resolution to assist clients in achieving their treatment objectives while providing ongoing education and support.
- Recovery Plans: Formulates treatment strategies that encompass client needs, immediate and long-term objectives, actionable steps, and therapeutic services to facilitate goal attainment.
- Case Management: Coordinates appointments, oversees client urinalysis testing, tracks client progress to ensure treatment goals are met; collaborates with external providers such as educational institutions, psychiatrists, and social services.
- Referrals: Guides clients to relevant programs or services by identifying suitable resources and assisting with the completion of eligibility or financial applications.
- Intake and Screenings: Educates clients on admission processes, gathers necessary information to assess eligibility for treatment, secures and maintains authorizations, and establishes comprehensive case records; provides clients with a thorough orientation to program operations, expectations, and policies.
- Assessments: Performs client evaluations by collecting pertinent history, identifying sources, and obtaining collaborative insights from external agencies.
- Record Keeping and Documentation: Completes routine and non-routine documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, and other necessary paperwork in accordance with agency policies.
- Participation: Engages in team meetings, case discussions, clinical workshops, and training sessions as deemed appropriate by supervisory staff.
- Administrative Duties: Manages front desk responsibilities, oversees client fee systems, and performs other client management tasks.
- Compliance: Adheres to the standards set by regulatory and funding bodies, as well as accreditation requirements.
A Master's Degree in a relevant discipline that qualifies for licensure in the State of Connecticut, along with a minimum of one year of experience working with adolescents.
