Job Title: Director of Corporate Development

Brookings Institution is seeking a highly skilled Director of Corporate Development to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with corporate donors, identifying new funding opportunities, and developing strategic plans to achieve our fundraising goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit corporate donors
  • Manage a portfolio of 30-50 current and prospective corporate funders, including customized outreach, event invitations, and special projects
  • Work closely with scholars, program staff, and other development team members to understand their fundraising needs and raise funds accordingly
  • Prepare briefings for donor meetings, track and send pledge reminders and invoices to corporate and ESC donors, and manage ESC development-related events
  • Utilize research resources to conduct research, prepare and provide biographical and financial profiles and reports on potential and identified individuals, corporations, and foundations
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of eight years of professional and/or related experience required
  • Excellent communication, organization, database, and spreadsheet skills, including the ability to enter and manipulate data
  • Interest in public policy, economics, and finance; demonstrated experience successfully raising gifts of $50,000+ in a non-profit environment
  • Experience working successfully with top-level executives in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, and the ability to research information and compile it into a concise briefing
