Position Overview:
We are in search of a highly skilled and meticulous Senior Electrical Estimator to enhance our construction team. The successful candidate will be tasked with developing thorough electrical estimates for various construction initiatives, evaluating project requirements, and collaborating with team members to ensure all estimates are precise and competitive. This role presents an excellent chance for professionals aiming to elevate their careers within the electrical contracting domain.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate detailed and precise cost estimates for electrical installations in construction projects.
  • Review blueprints, construction plans, and relevant documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Evaluate the cost efficiency of products and services, monitoring actual costs against estimates as projects progress.
  • Engage with clients, suppliers, and team members to discuss and refine estimates while addressing any issues.
  • Conduct analyses to establish standard hours and cost data or to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assess material and labor needs to determine the most cost-effective approach for sourcing components.
  • Compile cost and expenditure reports and other necessary documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and contractors on adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Prepare presentations and reports to clarify estimates and proposals.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in electrical estimation within the contracting industry.
  • Expertise in electrical construction and estimating practices.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methodologies, and material and labor costs.
  • Proficient in relevant software applications, including MS Office and estimating tools.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical capabilities.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry trends, construction practices, and material applications.
  • Capability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical codes and standards.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making skills based on analyzed information.
  • Professional certification in estimating is advantageous.
