Senior Electrical Estimator - Commercial Construction - Competitive Compensation

About the Role:
We are in search of a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Electrical Estimator to join our thriving construction team. This role is pivotal in preparing thorough electrical estimates for various construction initiatives, analyzing project proposals, and collaborating with team members to ensure all estimates are precise and competitive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for electrical systems in construction projects.
  • Examine blueprints, construction drawings, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services, monitoring actual costs against bids as the project progresses.
  • Engage with clients, vendors, and construction personnel to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve any issues.
  • Conduct studies to establish standard hour and related cost data or to implement cost reduction strategies.
  • Review material and labor requirements to determine the most cost-effective approach for producing or purchasing components.
  • Generate cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals throughout the project.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on modifications and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to clarify estimates and proposals.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as an estimator in the electrical contracting industry.
  • Proficient in electrical construction and estimating practices.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methodologies, and material and labor pricing.
  • Familiarity with relevant software, including MS Office and estimating applications.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical capabilities.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry trends, construction methodologies, material applications, and supplier appropriateness.
  • Competence in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical codes and standards.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making skills based on gathered information.
  • Professional certification in estimating is advantageous.
