Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Histology Technician or Histotechnologist to join our Anatomic Pathology team. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing microscope slides for pathologists to review, using a variety of techniques and equipment. You will also assist with the training of students and new employees, and actively partner with team members to foster an inclusive work environment.
Responsibilities- Perform a variety of technical procedures to create microscopic slide preparations, including accessioning specimens, specimen processing, and microtomy techniques.
- Apply technical theory to provide operational support and maintain testing activities.
- Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends as needed.
- Assist with the training of students and new employees.
- Partner with team members to foster an inclusive work environment.
- For Histology Technician (HT): Associates Degree required, with coursework including 24 semester hours in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology.
- For Histotechnologist (HTL): Bachelor's Degree required, with Histotechnologist (HTL) certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP).
