Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Histology Technician or Histotechnologist to join our team at Mayo Clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing microscopic slide preparations for diagnostic and prognostic analysis by pathologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of technical procedures to create microscopic slide preparations, including accessioning specimens, processing and microtomy techniques, and staining procedures.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends as needed.
  • Apply technical theory to provide operational support and maintain testing activities.
Requirements
  • Associate degree required for Histology Technician position.
  • Bachelor's degree required for Histotechnologist position.
  • Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) is required.
  • Ability to accommodate scheduling adjustments, off shifts, holidays, on-call, and weekend work assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate of a NAACLS accredited program.
  • Graduates of the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences Histology Technician Program will receive preference.
