Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Histology Technician or Histotechnologist to join our team in the Anatomic Pathology Frozen Section Laboratory. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for preparing microscopic slide preparations and assisting with the diagnosis of patients. This is a rewarding career opportunity that offers a chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients.
Responsibilities- Prepare microscopic slide preparations using various technical procedures, including accessioning specimens, specimen processing, and microtomy techniques.
- Perform technical staining procedures, such as routine Hematoxylin and Eosin, special stains, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemical staining, and in situ hybridization.
- Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends as needed.
- Assist with the training of students and new employees.
- Partner with team members to foster an inclusive work environment and respect others with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
- Associate degree required for Histology Technician (HT) position.
- Bachelor's degree required for Histotechnologist (HTL) position.
- Coursework including 24 semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology.
- Histology Technician (HT) certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP).
- Histotechnologist (HTL) certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP).
