Position Overview
The role of the Information Technology Technician is to guarantee seamless computer operations, enabling end users to fulfill their organizational responsibilities. This involves receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively addressing end user support requests. Problem resolution may require the use of authorized diagnostic tools and necessitate hands-on assistance at the desktop level.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a small, uniform site independently or assist in the administration of a larger system.
Conduct initial problem identification and resolution for all issues.
Escalate unresolved matters to the appropriate support teams.
Focus on software support within network activities, primarily in a Microsoft Windows environment.
Monitor and follow up on all outstanding issues to ensure effective resolution or to update clients on the current status.
Inform relevant management of priority issues and their resolutions.
Utilize necessary tools to monitor servers and perform daily responsibilities.
Engage with colleagues, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Adhere to all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
Document, track, and record help desk requests and the problem-solving process, including all decisions made, and brief IT team members on resolutions.
Create help sheets and a knowledge base for future reference and end users.
Perform related duties consistent with the role's scope and intent.
Be available for support calls around the clock.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
2-4 years of experience in a related field.
Certifications from accredited institutions in computer systems.
Understanding of basic computer hardware and application software.
Strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written).
Proficiency with database applications and administrative systems, particularly Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Must be a motivated, service-oriented individual with attention to detail.
Enthusiasm for challenges and new initiatives is essential.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities are required.
Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Excellent internal customer service skills.
Proven presentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Detail-oriented with the physical capability to lift 60 lbs.
Willingness to travel as necessary.
Manual dexterity required for using desktop computers and peripherals.
Overtime may be required.
