Job Summary

The Patient Service Representative role at Prevea Health Services is responsible for providing exceptional patient experiences and ensuring seamless communication between patients, family members, medical staff, providers, and administrative staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient communication and scheduling to ensure timely and efficient care.
  • Obtain and verify accurate demographic and insurance information to ensure proper billing and claims processing.
  • Route medical inquiries, complaints, and messages to the appropriate parties in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist patients and callers with financial inquiries, including policies, insurance, payments, and other financial needs.
  • Collect required payments, including co-payments, outstanding balances, and payments due at the time of service.
  • Complete necessary account, referral, and claim edit workflows and maintenance in assigned work queues.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments to ensure optimal scheduling and minimize wait times.
  • Provide accurate daily batch and/or deposits to the appropriate staff for processing.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in customer service, insurance, or healthcare setting preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient telephone and computer skills with clear and professional speaking abilities.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to assess patient needs and meet quality standards.
  • Empathetic and responsive to patient needs with the ability to actively listen and provide assistance.
  • Efficient multitasking and adaptability in fast-paced environments with frequently changing protocols and processes.
  • Effective and positive interaction with staff members throughout the organization.
  • Promote teamwork and provide a supportive environment throughout the organization.
  • Grammar, spelling, and punctuation knowledge to type patient information and take accurate messages.
  • Ability to work independently and think critically using provided information.
Working Conditions
  • Occasional exposure to noise.
Hearing and Vision Requirements
  • Hears whispers within 3 feet and 3-8 feet.
  • Color discrimination and near vision (correctable to Jaeger 2 or 20/40 binocular) and distance vision (correctable to Snellen chart 20/40 binocular) required.
