Job Description

This role is an exciting opportunity to join the team at US Foods, Inc. as a skilled Diesel Fleet Mechanic. The selected candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel equipment, including tractors and trailers.

Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues with diesel equipment to ensure prompt resolution and minimize downtime.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and extend the lifespan of vehicles.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems and address them promptly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve technical issues and share knowledge to improve overall fleet performance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with drivers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanics, with a proven track record of successfully maintaining and repairing diesel equipment. A combination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience is essential for this role.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues, drivers, and other stakeholders.
  • CDL A and DOT certification preferred.
