Diesel Fleet Maintenance Expert">

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Fleet Maintenance Expert to join our team at US Foods, Inc. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on professional with a passion for heavy-duty diesel equipment.

About the Role">

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of diesel-based equipment, ensuring that all vehicles are in good working condition and meet company standards.

As a Diesel Fleet Maintenance Expert, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, and more.

You will also perform preventative maintenance within company standards, complete documentation of all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability, handle road service calls, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

This role requires strong diagnostic skills, hands-on experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Requirements">

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of (3) years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic or a combination of both;
  • (2) years of verifiable hands-on experience with either Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certification or both;
  • Prior experience in administering an appropriate PM program;
  • CDL A and DOT certified, preferred;
  • The ability to read and communicate in the English language such as to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, read and understand technical and service manuals;
  • Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs;
  • Computer and software experience;
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends;
  • Must be able to work overtime when needed;

Please note that compensation may vary based on location and other factors permitted by law. In New York, the expected compensation for this role is $28-33.00 per hour.

This role is eligible for overtime compensation and offers a range of benefits, including health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance. The estimated salary for this role is $55,600 - $66,960 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek and 52 weeks per year.
