We are seeking a skilled Diesel Fleet Mechanic to join our team at US Foods, Inc. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations and performing preventative maintenance.

Our Fleet Mechanics start at $28.00 – $33.00/hour depending on experience, with opportunities for overtime compensation. The successful candidate will have at least (3) years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic, or a combination of both; or (2) years of verifiable hands-on experience with either Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certification or both. Reefer experience is preferred.

You will be required to troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, etc. You will also perform preventative maintenance within company standards, complete documentation of all repair orders, PM list, and parts accountability, and handle road service calls; perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.

You must be able to read and communicate in the English language, such as to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, read and understand technical and service manuals. You should also be able to communicate with co-workers and drivers with demonstrated teamwork skills.

The ability to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations pertaining to the shop and fleet is essential. You should also be able to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs, work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, and be willing to work overtime when needed.
