About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global Account Manager to join our Sales team at Kühne + Nagel. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of major accounts in the Industrial and Solar verticals, driving business growth and development through strategic relationship management and business development activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directly manage a portfolio of key accounts, eliciting customer needs and selling Kühne + Nagel's offer portfolio in accordance with agreed targets and goals.
  • Understand the customer's organization and decision-making process, as well as their business model and business environment.
  • Negotiate rates and service contracts with customers in alignment with the Business Unit's (BU) requirements.
  • Monitor monthly performance against set targets, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Develop and maintain account plans based on the Key Account Planning Process and template, signed off by the respective sales manager.
  • Effectively hand over and transition new business into operations to ensure customer requirements and Kühne + Nagel commitments are met.
  • Communicate across the organization to ensure account positioning internally and actively engage Kühne + Nagel leadership on the general and business management level.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's/First University Degree in International Studies, Business, or Engineering.
  • International experience: 2-5 years.
  • Leadership experience: direct and virtual, 1-2 years.
  • Supply Chain - Logistics: broad knowledge of Air, Sea, Road, CL, IL.
  • Sales experience: 5-10 years.
  • Knowledge and proven experience within a broad range of vertical topics.
  • Proven business development track record (up and cross selling, solutions/consultative/persuasion/negotiation).
  • Able to manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel both internationally and domestically as needed.

The target salary range for this position is between $140,000 and $170,000. Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401(k) retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles.
