Position Overview

The Sanitation Technician I is responsible for upholding exceptional standards of cleanliness and sanitation within our facility. This role involves performing routine cleaning tasks and ensuring the sanitation of production equipment and facilities in accordance with the manufacturing schedule. The Sanitation Technician I adheres to all regulatory and company protocols and collaborates with various departments, including Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance, to guarantee consistent, high-quality production.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated starting hourly base rate for this position is $18.70, subject to applicable withholdings and deductions, and is paid bi-weekly. Additionally, this role is eligible for a discretionary, variable annual incentive based on company performance. Key Responsibilities

  • Stay informed about and promote food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment throughout the production area.
  • Regularly clean equipment such as machines, racks, trays, and barrels in accordance with the Master Sanitation Schedule and other company policies.
  • Clean floors, walls, structures, and other areas of the facility as directed.
  • Properly dispose of trash, corrugate, pallets, scrap products, containers, and metal.
  • Handle all bodily fluids and potentially infectious materials in accordance with Bloodborne Pathogens and Exposure Control Program policies.
  • Assist in maintaining the company’s pest control program.
  • Perform all tasks safely, utilizing appropriate signage and safety equipment.
  • Document and maintain sanitation records as required.
Qualifications

Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in janitorial or manufacturing roles.
  • Basic math skills and effective written and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred:
  • Familiarity with Food Safety and/or GMP requirements.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Physical Requirements

This position is physically demanding, requiring the employee to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the workday. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items weighing over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
