Kaiser Permanente is looking for a dedicated Ultrasound Technologist I to join our team.

Position Overview

As an Ultrasound Technologist I, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality imaging services. You will work under the supervision of the Imaging Services Director, Manager, and Chief of Radiology/Imaging Services to produce detailed ultrasonic recordings of internal organs, aiding physicians in diagnosing medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate professionalism and empathy while explaining procedures to patients to alleviate concerns and ensure cooperation.
  • Prepare and position patients appropriately for examinations.
  • Select and set up ultrasound equipment based on examination requirements.
  • Choose the correct transducer and adjust equipment settings to optimize imaging quality.
  • Operate imaging equipment to capture internal organ images and document diagnostic information.
  • Manually maneuver the transducer over the designated body area while monitoring the quality of the ultrasound output.
  • Capture and archive images for patient records.
  • Input test data and patient details into the ultrasound system to maintain accurate records.
  • Assist in training new staff members.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.
QualificationsBasic Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
Licensure and Certification:

Applicants must possess at least one of the following certifications:

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - Abdomen
  • Advanced Cardiac Sonographer Certification (CCI)
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - Ob-Gyn
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Pediatric
  • Registered Vascular Technician (RVT)
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Fetal Echocardiography
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Breast
Additional Requirements:
  • Proven competency in performing ultrasound examinations.
  • Certification in Nuchal Translucency within three months of hire for relevant clinics.
