In this role, the Vision Care Sales Specialist will operate under limited supervision to market and promote a variety of proprietary eye care products to healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize analytical tools to develop a territory business strategy based on product portfolio opportunities and strategic guidance from the home office.
- Enhance territory performance by driving growth in prescriptions and market share.
- Stay informed about managed care coverage of products and effectively communicate updates to healthcare providers.
- Employ and refine clinical selling techniques to add value and influence customer perspectives on treatment options and patient management.
- Manage promotional budgets and determine expenditures for promotional activities aligned with the business plan.
- Engage with ophthalmologists and optometrists according to an established call plan and independent evaluation of prescription activity and growth potential.
- Utilize available samples within FDA guidelines to maximize impact with the promotional audience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of specialty pharmaceutical sales experience with a proven track record of success.
- Required residence within the designated territory.
- Preferred knowledge of ophthalmology.
- Demonstrated proficiency with studies, clinical reprints, and other third-party proof sources.
- Strong PC skills required (Microsoft tools); familiarity with systems such as PeopleSoft, GBS, email, and other administrative tools.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business trade journals, professional journals, and financial reports, as well as write reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills are essential.
- Valid driver's license required for travel to customer locations.
- Some overnight travel may be necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

As mandated by Washington DC's Salary Transparency Law, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range for roles that may be performed in Washington DC. Actual compensation is influenced by various factors, including skill set, experience level, and specific office location. For Colorado, the starting annual base pay range for this role is $100,000 - $123,500.
