The American Academy in Rome is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to join its team. Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to achieve the Academy's goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the financial planning and budgeting process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and grants management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer and other senior management staff.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in financial management, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial concepts into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior management, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, including Financial Edge and Sage Intacct.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to excellence and customer service.
