About the R&D DepartmentThe PPL R&D Department is seeking three student engineering interns from all engineering disciplines to join its team in January 2025. The ideal candidates will be passionate about renewable energy, including wind and solar, energy storage, green hydrogen, sustainability, carbon capture, and other decarbonization technologies.
The selected interns will work part-time during the spring semester and full-time during the summer semester, with opportunities to travel to various locations across the PPL Corporation to work on clean energy R&D projects.
Responsibilities- Ensure a safe and accident-free work environment.
- Apply engineering and scientific principles to plan projects, collect and analyze data, and create professional reports.
- Gather, correlate, and analyze data using established procedures.
- Communicate results and participation in research projects within applicable business units and prepare summaries of value and results to management.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and suggest improved methods.
- Perform detailed and/or engineering assignments involving established calculations, tests, and analysis.
- Available part-time during the spring 2025 semester and full-time during the summer 2025 semester.
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree with a declared major in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Minimum 2.50 GPA.
