Overview: The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in managing the general ledger and executing all financial tasks related to financial reporting, profitability assessment, analysis, and various special projects as assigned.

Key Responsibilities: The primary duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Performing monthly and quarterly reconciliations to ensure precise reporting and ledger upkeep.
  • Managing fixed asset processing and reporting.
  • Conducting financial and profitability analyses as requested.
  • Auditing and validating financial documents.
  • Investigating and resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Assisting in the preparation and coordination of financial audits.
  • Contributing to departmental and organizational special projects as assigned.
  • Adhering to all regulatory guidelines and internal policies and procedures.
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts.
  • Overseeing inventory records and ensuring transaction accuracy.
  • Supporting the Accounting Supervisor and Chief Financial Officer with journal entry documentation, bank reconciliations, and financial report preparation.
  • Identifying variations and fluctuations, and assisting in the investigation and reporting of these findings.
  • Documenting Senior Accountant procedures and maintaining internal accounting standards.
  • Assisting with testing and obtaining final approval for system reports required for management and financial reporting.

Supervisory Role: This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Travel Requirements: Minimal to no travel is anticipated for this role.

Position Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree in accounting or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting capacity.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of specific requirements.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an accounting role.
