Position Summary: We are looking for a skilled professional to evaluate new credit applications, make informed loan servicing decisions for our clientele, and fulfill other vital credit responsibilities. This role involves conducting financial assessments and underwriting for various agricultural sectors across our service area. The selected candidate will ensure that credit decisions align with established policies and best practices, spending significant time on loan analysis and communicating outcomes to both internal and external stakeholders. Client interactions are a key component of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate financial documents submitted for both formal and informal lending requests.
- Identify and gather necessary financial information to process lending requests.
- Make credit decisions, including approvals, declines, or escalations as necessary.
- Assess the level of analysis and due diligence required based on credit risk.
- Classify accounts and determine probability of default ratings.
- Communicate credit decisions and findings through detailed written reports.
- Establish conditions and requirements for loan closings.
- Address inquiries and provide guidance on credit-related matters during the lending process.
- Facilitate negotiations of credit agreements among all parties involved.
- Develop tailored credit solutions to meet client needs.
- Monitor loan performance and provide guidance on loan classifications.
- Collaborate with sales teams to address loan delinquencies and servicing requests.
- Structure solutions for distressed credits to align with internal requirements and client expectations.
- Work with teams to create servicing plans for higher-risk client relationships.
- Engage with clients to provide assessments of their financial performance against industry standards.
- Enhance knowledge of agricultural sectors by staying updated through various resources.
- Bachelor's degree in agricultural business, finance, economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in a financial institution is preferred.
- Familiarity with federal and state regulations pertinent to the financial industry and Farm Credit.
- Understanding of agricultural operations, crop insurance, and livestock industries.
- Knowledge of loan products, services, and credit operations.
- Proficiency in credit processing, accounting principles, and credit analysis.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and CRM software.
- Ability to make sound decisions and negotiate effectively.
- Adaptable to changing environments.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
- Valid driver's license is required.
