Position Overview:
The El Segundo division is in search of a Quality Assurance Lead 3 to oversee the Advanced Composites Center (ACC) Quality team. This role will report directly to the Director of Mission Assurance for the El Segundo location.
As a senior leader, this individual will empower high-performing teams and will be accountable for executing, monitoring, and reporting on the health and quality of products and services.
This role necessitates a thought leader with a strong leadership presence and decision-making capabilities, adept at navigating an environment characterized by ambiguity and continuous evolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Quality Assurance organization for the Advanced Composites Center.
- Serve as the primary liaison with on-site Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) representatives concerning product quality, audits, and corrective actions.
- Utilize metrics and feedback from customers and employees to evaluate program performance and identify risks.
- Promote the professional growth of the Quality Engineering/Quality Assurance workforce while fostering a collaborative culture that enhances employee engagement and inclusion.
- Provide clear assignments and connect employees' efforts to broader organizational goals, cultivating an inclusive work environment that values diversity.
- Oversee issue identification through comprehensive data analysis of production failures and manage corrective actions through cross-functional collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with processes and contracts through audits and reviews, addressing any non-compliance with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Facilitate communication between Engineering and Manufacturing to address impacts on producibility, testability, and affordability.
- Support business proposals, quality planning, and monitor adherence to quality standards throughout program execution.
- Establish quality strategies that align with customer expectations and regularly communicate program quality status through data-driven metrics.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with five (5) years of relevant experience.
• At least three (3) years of leadership experience.
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems.
• Proven ability to communicate and achieve tactical and strategic goals.
• Experience with problem-solving techniques for Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA).
• Background in mission assurance, quality, program management, engineering, or manufacturing.
• Experience in personnel management, including IPT leadership or direct-line management.
• Strong analytical skills.
• U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of NG QMS principles, ISO 9001, AS9100, and customer FAR & DFAR requirements.
• Experience with customer interactions, including DCMA.
• Financial planning and budgeting experience for proposals and program execution.
• Background in the Defense Industry as a Program or Project Manager, Quality Manager, Engineering Manager, or Manufacturing Manager.
• Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
• Experience or training in Agile methodology.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $164,300 - $246,500. This range serves as a general guideline; however, various factors influence base salary offers, including the scope of responsibilities and the candidate's experience and skills.
