Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist 3 plays a vital role in delivering exceptional care to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. This position is responsible for conducting thorough assessments and providing timely interventions across the healthcare network. The therapist will implement and adjust oxygen therapy, administer medications, and ensure effective airway management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the Ventilator and Rounding protocols, collaborating with medical staff to evaluate patient status and minimize ventilator dependency.
  2. Assess patients for cardiopulmonary issues and administer appropriate treatments for conditions such as hypoxia and bronchospasm.
  3. Perform arterial blood gas analysis and recommend necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  4. Utilize non-invasive ventilation techniques (BIPAP/CPAP) as needed.
  5. Manage ventilator care for neonates and surgical patients.
  6. Provide education to patients regarding their conditions and home care strategies to prevent readmission.
  7. Respond to emergency situations, including trauma alerts and code responses, ensuring patient stabilization.
  8. Document patient interactions and care provided in accordance with departmental standards.
  9. Participate in mandatory training and departmental meetings to maintain compliance and enhance skills.
  10. Assist in training and orienting new staff members.
  11. Fulfill all compliance obligations related to the role.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.

Required Credentials:

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), CPR certification for Healthcare Providers, and demonstrated skills in ventilator management for both adult and neonatal patients.

Experience:

A minimum of one year of relevant experience is required.

Working Conditions:

This role involves significant manual dexterity and the ability to exert considerable physical effort, including lifting up to 50 lbs. The position may expose the therapist to various environmental factors.
