Bookstore Operations Manager

The Bookstore Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the bookstore, ensuring a seamless customer experience, and driving sales growth. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the inventory of textbooks, supplies, and other items for sale, ensuring accurate stock levels and minimizing shrinkage.
- Coordinate with vendors to obtain textbook changes, orders, and other necessary materials.
- Supervise the daily collection and balancing of point of sale receipts from all bookstore sales.
- Develop and implement sales and promotional strategies to increase daily sales and community awareness.
- Conduct physical inventory of textbooks, supplies, and other items for sale, and maintain accurate records.
- Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
- Supervise and train bookstore personnel, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent customer service.
- Manage temporary employees and ensure adequate staffing levels during peak times.
- Associate degree in accounting, computer information systems, or marketing.
- One year of experience in a retail setting, including inventory, ordering, and receiving, stocking, and/or corresponding with vendors.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of college and state procurement procedures.
- Knowledge and experience in college bookstore management.
- Skills in use of computerized cash register and Nebraska software.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and adhere to established deadlines.
- Ability to organize merchandise in a manner appealing to the eye.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple parties to resolve issues effectively.
Salary will be based on education, experience, and other qualifications in a range from $45,000 to $55,000 annually. This is a full-time position with paid state holidays, accrued annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Health and Flexible Benefits Program.
