Ned's Club Washington DC is a sophisticated members' club housed in a stunning neoclassical building located in a prime area. This elegant venue features a Rooftop Terrace and Loft Restaurant offering breathtaking views of iconic landmarks.

Position Overview

As the Executive Chef, you will be the driving force behind our culinary vision. You will lead a skilled team of culinary professionals, creating an environment that encourages innovation and excellence in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and curate seasonal menus that highlight the best local and international ingredients while maintaining the unique culinary identity of Ned's Club.
  • Develop signature dishes that reflect our brand's reputation, exploring new flavors, techniques, and culinary influences.
  • Conduct regular tastings with the culinary team to refine dishes and ensure consistency in quality.
  • Establish and uphold rigorous quality control standards to guarantee that every dish meets our high expectations for taste and presentation.
  • Utilize strong relationships with suppliers to procure high-quality ingredients, focusing on local and sustainable options.
  • Oversee all kitchen operations, including budgeting, equipment upkeep, cleanliness, inventory management, and food safety standards.
  • Assist in recruiting and training kitchen staff, empowering them to take ownership of their roles.
  • Facilitate pre-service meetings to ensure effective communication and smooth kitchen operations.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for your culinary team, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
  • Manage the scheduling of the kitchen team while adhering to budgeted labor costs.
  • Conduct monthly inventory checks to ensure accuracy.
  • Analyze sales data to identify opportunities for cost savings and menu enhancements.
  • Collaborate with management on pricing strategies and operational efficiencies to maximize profitability.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as an Executive Chef in a high-volume, upscale dining environment.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences, combined with advanced culinary skills and knowledge of fine dining practices.
  • A commitment to sourcing seasonal, sustainable, and high-quality ingredients.
  • Strong leadership abilities to inspire and develop a talented culinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills, fostering positive relationships with staff, suppliers, and guests.
  • A dedicated work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and service.
  • Possession of a Food Handler's Certificate or equivalent certification is preferred.
