Position Overview


We are in search of a System Integration Test Labs Operations Lead who is exceptionally organized and passionate, possessing outstanding communication skills.

This role will require a balance of responsibilities between our Systems Testing facilities. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic, high-expectation environment, where individual contributions are highly valued. Key responsibilities will include orchestrating and strategizing Testing team projects while collaborating with various engineering teams at Joby Aviation. Key Responsibilities


- Develop and oversee the Systems Integration Test Labs Operations strategy.
- Collaborate closely with Testing, Design, Certification, and Manufacturing teams to identify and outline testing-related projects essential for aircraft hardware development, including battery packs, electric propulsion systems, flight computers, navigation systems, and associated software.
- Ensure that all executed projects adhere to internal and external performance standards and documentation requirements.
- Work in tandem with other project managers to align company-wide efforts towards achieving critical milestones.

- Proactively manage ongoing projects by monitoring progress, project phases, and addressing potential issues before they impact project timelines.

- Exhibit sound judgment and critical thinking to guide teams in meeting ambitious deadlines.

- Create, maintain, and communicate schedules to diverse audiences, from team members to executives.

- Develop tools to enhance reporting and planning functions.

- Utilize team performance metrics to inform growth, organizational, and budgeting strategies, while providing constructive feedback to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications


- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering setting with a focus on change management.
- Proven organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Familiarity with DO178 in a laboratory context.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple high-paced engineering projects simultaneously.
- Comprehensive understanding of the product development lifecycle for hardware-centric projects from inception to launch.

- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Confluence, and JIRA.
- Competence in standard workplace software (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools) with the ability to create and maintain performance metrics.

Preferred Qualifications


- Experience with aerospace projects and the FAA certification process is advantageous but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits
Joby offers a competitive compensation package that includes base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this role ranges from $116,200 to $198,200 annually, determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additionally, Joby provides a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan with company matching, an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, and more.

This position must comply with US export control regulations, thus candidates must qualify as a "US Person" as defined by applicable laws.
