Since our inception, we have been dedicated to transforming this vision into reality, developing and testing various generations of prototype aircraft designed for a network of electric air taxis.We are currently seeking a dedicated program manager to join our commercial operations team, focusing on the strategic development, planning, and execution of air taxi services in both domestic and international markets.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, capable of articulating Joby's vision to essential commercial, political, and regulatory stakeholders.
Additionally, you must be adept in tactical execution, managing a diverse range of tasks from drafting operational guidelines to collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement go-to-market strategies.
Your background in aviation operations will provide a solid foundation for acquiring expertise in eVTOL operations, positioning you as a valuable subject matter expert.
You will contribute a knowledgeable perspective on the essential workstreams required for the successful launch of a commercial eVTOL air taxi service.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate the implementation of technical and engineering requirements to support flight demonstrations.
Ensure the safe and successful execution of flight demonstrations, addressing aspects such as aircraft certification, frequency allocation, flight testing, staffing plans, operational logistics, and insurance matters.
Collaborate with various Joby teams, including product development, business strategy, infrastructure, government relations, and policy, to establish and maintain timelines for launching commercial air taxi operations.
Represent Joby's air taxi operational concept to both internal and external stakeholders, leveraging your knowledge of aviation regulations and operational experience.
Identify, track, and achieve objectives that facilitate the launch of air taxi services, while recognizing potential obstacles and execution risks.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of commercial aviation operations in major U.S. and international markets, including heliports and airports, to support the realization of Joby's eVTOL operational vision.
QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 4 years of operational experience within a major commercial air carrier, air taxi, charter operation, or other aviation-related organization.
Proven experience in leading aviation operations or programs with multiple interrelated projects.
Experience engaging with individuals at all organizational levels, including executives, both within and outside the organization.
Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit with a proactive approach to initiating new projects.
Strong project management skills, including budgeting, logistics, and timeline oversight.
In-depth knowledge of U.S. or EASA aviation regulations.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred qualifications include 8+ years of operational experience at a commercial air carrier and a current and valid CPL or ATPL.
Prior experience as a pilot with a 14 CFR Part 135 or 121 air carrier is advantageous.
Experience in consulting or finance, in addition to aviation expertise, is desirable.
Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
