Job Overview

Position: Non-CDL Vehicle Operator

Compensation: $26.00 per hour

Schroeder Moving Systems is looking for dedicated full-time and part-time Non-CDL vehicle operators for our local and regional transportation teams.

Role Summary

This position involves full engagement in the driving and moving process. The operator is tasked with safely transporting vehicles from the warehouse to various job sites, where they will lead a team in the efficient loading and unloading of household items and special deliveries. The operator collaborates closely with clients to ensure a seamless moving experience, aiming to make the physical relocation of goods the most manageable aspect of their transition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate moving and delivery vehicles.
  • Supervise and assist with packing, unpacking, moving, and loading/unloading items at the job site.
  • Prepare and maintain all necessary documentation related to moves and shipments.
  • Adapt to irregular working hours as required.
  • Provide guidance to team members on-site.
  • Ensure punctuality and safety in operations.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and foster a fun work environment.
  • Utilize map and GPS tools effectively.
  • Accountable for the care of materials and equipment.
  • Conduct regular cleaning and inspections of vehicles and tools.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both colleagues and clients.
  • Mathematical Skills: Proficient in basic arithmetic operations.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of addressing everyday challenges and interpreting various instructions.

Physical Requirements

Regularly required to lift and move objects weighing between 10-50 lbs, with occasional lifting of items over 100 lbs. The role involves frequent standing, walking, and other physical activities, with the ability to work in diverse temperature conditions.

General Expectations

All employees must adhere to company compliance and policy guidelines, pass a background check, and participate in a random drug testing program. A high school diploma or GED is required, and candidates must be at least 21 years old.
