The Cannabis Retail Associate plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer service rather than focusing solely on sales. As the primary representative of our organization, you will facilitate the education of new customers regarding the diverse range of products available. It is essential to be adept at guiding customers toward the appropriate products that meet their recreational or wellness needs. Adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) is crucial to ensure a compliant retail environment, alongside maintaining the overall cleanliness and aesthetic of the dispensary. A sense of awareness and ownership is vital in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Process, organize, and package customer orders efficiently.
- Ensure a tidy and organized retail space.
- Deliver outstanding service to both new and returning customers.
- Accurately operate the point of sale system.
- Respond to customer inquiries with informative and patient assistance.
- Maintain a solid understanding of the products offered at the dispensary.
- Adhere to best practices for customer interaction and compliance.
- Represent the organization positively to customers, employees, and the community.
- Foster long-term relationships with customers to encourage referrals and repeat business.
Compensation
Hourly wage ranges from $15 to $18 USD.
Essential Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in a customer service role within retail or hospitality.
- Must be at least 21 years old (or as mandated by state regulations).
- A High School diploma is required.
- Intermediate math skills are necessary.
- Exceptional customer service abilities.
- Strong attention to detail with problem-solving skills in a calm and professional manner.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Personal experience with cannabis products is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Analytical skills for evaluating data and facts.
- Proven experience managing a cash register accurately.
- Experience in training new employees.
- Prior experience as a key holder in a retail setting.
- Knowledge of state cannabis regulations.
- 5+ years of experience in retail.
