Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at Forefront Healthcare & Culinary Services. As a Housekeeper, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients and residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily housekeeping services to ensure a safe, clean, and sanitary environment in accordance with laws, regulations, and facility guidelines.
  • Closely follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules to maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization.
  • Clean floors, including dust mopping, wet mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming, to prevent the spread of germs and maintain a clean environment.
  • Clean furnishings, fixtures, and equipment throughout the facility, including moveable and stationary items.
  • Remove trash and clean/disinfect waste containers to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms in both resident rooms and public spaces throughout the facility.
  • Clean public spaces, including corridors, stairwells, elevators, waiting rooms, and lobby, to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
  • Clean equipment and work areas as assigned by the Housekeeping/EVS Manager.
  • Be knowledgeable of Federal, State, and facility's rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and maintain a safe environment.
  • Attend in-service educational programs to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry standards.
  • Follow defined safety codes while performing all duties to prevent accidents and maintain a safe environment.
  • Understand facility's fire and disaster plans and follow established procedures during drills and actual emergencies.
  • Perform other department duties assigned by the Housekeeping/EVS or designee.
Requirements
  • Customer Service Oriented: Provide excellent customer service to patients, residents, and staff.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional demeanor and attitude at all times.
  • Safety Practices: Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and maintain a safe environment.
  • Resident Rights: Respect and maintain the rights and dignity of patients and residents.
  • General Knowledge of HSKG/EVS Skills: Possess a general knowledge of housekeeping and environmental services skills and procedures.
Work Environment

This position requires lifting up to forty pounds (40lbs) and working in a fast-paced environment. The Housekeeper will be required to stand and walk continuously throughout the working day, reach, stoop, bend, lift, carry, and work with housekeeping supplies and equipment. The ability to work with chemicals and cleaning agents is also required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is an hourly position, with expected hours to include days, evenings, some weekends, and some holidays.

Required Education and Experience
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • High school graduate or equivalent education is preferred. Minimum one (1) year of housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting is desired.

  • Verbal and writing abilities necessary to communicate and work effectively with various levels of staff, residents, family members, and the public.
  • Motor coordination and manual dexterity are required to operate housekeeping equipment.
  • Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow directions and work assignments. Able and willing to work flexible hours, such as during an emergency situation. Must be patient and tolerant toward staff, residents, and family members.
