Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at Forefront Healthcare & Culinary Services. As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients and residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily housekeeping services to ensure a safe, clean, and sanitary environment in accordance with laws, regulations, and facility guidelines.
  • Closely follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules to maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization.
  • Clean floors, including dust mopping, wet mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming, to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Clean furnishings, fixtures, and equipment throughout the facility, including moveable and stationary items.
  • Dust and disinfect horizontal surfaces throughout the facility to prevent the spread of infection.
  • Remove trash and clean/disinfect waste containers to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms in both resident rooms and public spaces throughout the facility.
  • Clean public spaces, including corridors, stairwells, elevators, waiting rooms, and lobby, to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
  • Clean equipment and work areas as assigned by the Housekeeping/EVS Manager.
  • Be knowledgeable of Federal, State, and facility's rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Attend in-service educational programs to stay up-to-date on best practices and procedures.
  • Follow defined safety codes while performing all duties to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Understand facility's fire and disaster plans and follow established procedures during drills and actual emergencies.
  • Perform other department duties assigned by the Housekeeping/EVS or designee.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent education is preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year of housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting is desired, but not required. General knowledge of cleaning and infection prevention is necessary.
Work Environment

This position requires lifting up to forty pounds (40lbs). The Housekeeper will work throughout the facility, including resident rooms, and will be required to bend, lift, sit, stand, and move frequently throughout the shift. The Housekeeper may be exposed to odors, falls, burns, and exposure to infectious diseases, waste, blood, and body fluids.

Physical Demands

The Housekeeper will be required to stand and walk continuously throughout the working day. The position requires reaching, stooping, bending, lifting, carrying, and working with housekeeping supplies and equipment. The Housekeeper must be able to work with chemicals and cleaning agents and must be free from infection or diseases. The Housekeeper must be able to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds.
