We are seeking a Livestock Reception Specialist to become an integral part of our organization. Position Title: Livestock Reception Specialist
Reports To: Lead Receiver or Livestock Department Supervisor
Employment Status: Hourly, Agricultural Exempt
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate incoming livestock for quality and compliance
- Handle livestock in a calm and stress-free manner
- Organize livestock and notify management of any concerns
- Maintain feeding and hydration schedules
- Oversee the dispatch of finished livestock
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols
Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in safe horseback riding
- Strong numerical aptitude
- Familiarity with various livestock breeds and their traits
- Competence in word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Flexibility to work varied hours
- Effective communication and organizational abilities
Essential Competencies:
Expected to collaborate effectively within teams, understand the implications of business decisions, utilize resources wisely, adhere to safety standards, and exhibit sound judgment.
Work Environment:
Employees will operate in outdoor settings with exposure to livestock and machinery sounds.
